PS5 Players Can Have Their Gameplay Recorded, Published as Game Help Hint

At some point in a video game, there's a chance that players might get stuck, whether it's a boss fight that's hard to defeat or a puzzle that they cannot solve. Game Help is a way for developers to provide tips to push players in the right direction, but the new feature would be a more direct approach to helping.

PS5's New Community Game Help

Games aren't always straightforward, so you'll have to figure out the next thing to do before you progress. You might have to rely on tutorial videos or articles to solve them, but you might not have to do that anymore when playing on the PS5.

Thanks to Game Help, developers can share tips to nudge you past the part you can't figure out. Soon enough, you'll be getting help from fellow players as well through Community Game Help, which will be an option available on certain games.

The feature is set to be released later this year, but Sony already revealed how it will work. When in need of guidance, players can watch clips of other players' playthroughs on that certain part of a particular game, as reported by Gizmodo.

You may even serve as a helping hand in the situation by having your progress recorded as well. The feature won't require you to manually press record or edit the footage to only show the essential scenes. The Game Help function will automatically do that for you.

If you want to participate in the new feature and have your gameplay recorded, you can enable it by going to Captures & Broadcasts, then Captures, Auto Captures, Community Game Help, and then Participate. You could even decide how many videos are captured every month.

However, the videos are not automatically uploaded and shown to other players. It will have to be reviewed by a moderator and will be uploaded to Community Game Help once approved. Your ID will be shown to see who the gameplay came from as well.

You and other players can rate the videos based on their helpfulness. Of course, the feature will only be available on select games this year, and the number of help videos will depend on how many people play the particular game.

Accessing Game Help Through the PS App

PlayStation is yet to announce if the Community Game Help feature will also be available on the PS App that can be synced to your console. The existing Game Help feature is already available.

The Game Help tips appear on a panel at the left side of the screen if you select Multitasking, which can interfere with gameplay if you need total visibility. Doing so through the app would allow you to view the tips on a different screen.

Although the Multitasking function might be more helpful when it comes to video tutorials, as players won't have to look at two different screens when following a playthrough. The same goes for the videos that come from Game Help as well.
