TikTok Adds Concert Ticket Selling on Platform

Since 2022, TikTok has allowed users from the U.S. to purchase live event tickets through the platform's collaboration with Ticketmaster. Last year, the partnership expanded, allowing other markets from Canada, Mexico, the U.K., Ireland, and Australia to experience the feature as well.

With the AXS agreement, TikTok has joined Spotify and Bandsintown as an official discovery partner in the AXS Anywhere program. This program allows venues, artists, and other partners to present targeted ticket offers and experiences.

"TikTok's partnership with AXS allows us to connect millions of users with legendary artists, venues, and festivals, and allows artists to promote their live dates and reach their audience in a whole new way," said Michael Kümmerle, global music partnership development lead at TikTok.

TikTok Expands Feature Amid Uncertain Future

Eligible artists and partners can add their AXS event links to videos before posting to direct their viewers to a live event that would interest them. The feature is now available to any certified artists, allowing them to promote their live events.

"By combining the reach and influence of TikTok artists with AXS's global ticketing platform, the partnership will provide seamless ticket-buying access to some of the world's most iconic venues, festivals, and tours," said Marc Ruxin, AXS's chief strategy officer.

Despite the introduction of a unique feature, TikTok's future remains uncertain in the U.S. as the platform is still under threat of being shut down in the country. As of writing, the Senate has yet to move forward with the bill.
