Sprint teams up with Google to deliver Google Apps for Business

In an effort to attract more business users to its network, Sprint has teamed up with Google to deliver Google Apps for Business.

This partnership will allow the carrier to seamlessly support the tech giant's cloud-based productivity applications, complete with full online support. Google, for its part, provides comprehensive application packages for schools and businesses.

Sprint will start providing full service and support to all employees in August. The carrier will offer 24/7 support and will even provide online training for all mobile use of Google Apps, at no extra cost.

"Sprint offers a variety of mobile tools to accommodate multigenerational work styles within the workplace, helping people to boost productivity and collaborate from virtually anywhere," the carrier touts in its press release. "Google's versatile toolbox makes it simple for businesses large and small to integrate best-in-class, cloud-based solutions. As a trusted wireless leader, we offer the most comprehensive approach across all business segments. When combined with the flexibility of our new Fusion pricing plans, Sprint delivers the perfect balance of mobility and collaboration tools that today's business require."

With this new move, Sprint aims to become a "one-stop shop for businesses," by offering all of Google's cloud-based business solutions with just one sign-on. Moreover, the carrier said it will work with businesses to provide a "complete solution" specifically tailored to their needs.

"Google Apps helps businesses work better together with familiar tools they can trust," adds Murali Sitaram, director of strategic partnerships for Google Enterprise. "Our partners are critical in this effort, providing valuable cloud and mobility solutions to customers of all sizes and across diverse industries. We are pleased to welcome Sprint to the Google Apps Partner Program, where they will provide Google Apps and added services to help customers work the way they live."

"Employees are more mobile and decentralized so the need for robust office productivity, collaboration and secure file storage for businesses large and small are simply a reflection of the degree to which the very nature of the workspace is changing," further said Ovum principal analyst Mike Sapien. "There is a growing need for solutions built around mobile collaboration that is both well integrated and reliable. The role that Sprint will serve as a major mobility provider with integrated Google Apps represents a very significant step towards helping businesses meet that need."

Google has a wide range of apps designed to help boost productivity in a business environment. Apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Sites, for instance, allow business users to stay connected and work together with minimum hassle. Other popular applications such as Google Docs and Google Drive allows users to collaborate in real time on files, word processing, and presentations, so that all those involved have the necessary information up to date at all times. Simply put, Google Apps is a cloud-based solution that allows users to work anytime, anywhere, and on any device, picking up right where they left off, without losing control or compromising the security of their work.
