Google Nexus 9 may launch in India soon, units already shipped into the country

The high-end Google Nexus 9 tablet made in collaboration may be ready to hit India soon, as the device has already been shipped into the country.

The HTC-made Nexus 9 is currently considered one of the hottest tablets of this year, as it boasts top-notch specs and features all around and ships with the very latest Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The slate has already drawn plenty of interest since its official debut in mid-October, and is expected to make its way to more markets soon.

The Nexus 9 was expected to hit commercial availability in India on Nov. 12, but that has not happened. Nevertheless, it now seems that the tablet may be ready to debut soon in the country.

According to import - export tracking website Zauba, Google shipped 10 Nexus 9 units to India on Nov. 14, for testing purposes, and another 2,000 units the next day, on Nov. 15. More units are expected to hit the country soon, which means that the Nexus 9 may finally make its debut in the country soon.

As a reminder, the Google Nexus 9 sports an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at a 4:3 aspect ratio, with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top for extra durability and scratch-resistance.

Under the hood, the slate packs a powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 64-bit architecture, a Kepler DX1 graphics processing unit (GPU), and 2GB of RAM. Other specs of the HTC-made Google Nexus 9 tablet include an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.6-megapixel front shooter, dual front-facing Boomsound speakers, and a large 6,700 mAh battery to keep things up and running.

The Nexus 9 is expected to become very popular once it hits wider availability worldwide, and many interested customers in India are eagerly waiting for the tablet's launch in the country. Google has yet to offer an exact release date for its Nexus 9 in India, but the listing on Zauba suggests that a launch is imminent.
