OnePlus One flagship killer available invite-free for Black Friday

OnePlus jumped on the Black Friday bandwagon, offering its OnePlus One smartphone without an invite for 72 hours, across all markets it ships to.

The OnePlus One smartphone, dubbed "the flagship killer," has created a lot of frustration so far among interested buyers, as many tried repeatedly to purchase it to no avail. The handset has been available on an invite-only basis most of the time, allowing only a selected few to actually get it.

Earlier this month, OnePlus ditched the invite system for just one hour, allowing interested buyers to get a OnePlus One smartphone even if they didn't have an invitation, but even so many were left without the change to make their purchase. The company has now kicked off a similar promotion, this time extending the timeframe to 72 hours in order to allow more customers to take advantage of it.

This should make it easier for more interested buyers to purchase a OnePlus One smartphone, which is available now without an invite for $299 or $349 in 16GB or 64GB models, respectively. This promotion runs for 72 hours or while supplies last, and orders will arrive before Dec. 25, just in time for Christmas.

As a reminder, the OnePlus One smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a pixel density of 401 ppi, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. Under the hood, the handset packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, paired with Adreno 330 graphics and 3GB of RAM. Other specs include a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a selfie-friendly 5-megapixel front shooter, while a 3,100 mAh battery keeps things up and running. On the software side, the device runs Cyanogen 11S based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

At the same time, OnePlus is also offering some deals on a range of accessories, including OnePLus Silver Bullet and JBL E1+ headphones, screen protectors, and OnePlus One cases.
