Google Nexus 6 may finally hit Verizon Wireless on Dec. 13

Verizon Wireless may finally be ready to launch the Google Nexus 6 smartphone on its network this month, on Dec. 13.

The Nexus 6 made in collaboration with Motorola is widely considered one of the hottest devices currently available on the market and is already in such high demand that it barely stays in stock.

Verizon Wireless confirmed back in October that it plans to offer the Nexus 6 on its network, but hasn't given any details in this regards ever since. All other major carriers have already started offering the device, yet Verizon still made no official announcement.

As a reminder, AT&T launched the Nexus 6 on Nov. 12, Sprint followed suit on Nov. 14, and T-Mobile added the device on Nov. 19, after a one-week delay. Verizon is late to the party yet again, but it seems that Big Red may finally be launching the Nexus 6 on Dec. 13.

This is not official information from the carrier itself, as Verizon has offered no exact launch date for the Nexus 6 on its network. The information comes from a Reddit user, who claims to have learned about the Dec. 13 launch date from employees in a Verizon store.

"I was just in my local Verizon store, as I am looking to switch carriers. I'm waiting for the Nexus 6 to finalize my switch, but its obviously not on sale yet. I was speaking with a few of the employees, and they looked into the system and told me the Nexus 6 is expected to be released December 13th," the user posted on Reddit. "So take that for what it worth, but hopefully it's true!"

As a reminder, the Nexus 6 sports a massive 5.96-inch QHD display with a sharp resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and packs a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor under the hood. Other specs include 3GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage capacity, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a 3,220 mAh battery to keep things up and running. In terms of software, the Nexus 6 is the first smartphone to rock the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, as it served as a launch vehicle for the new OS version.

As previously mentioned, Verizon has yet to make an official announcement regarding when it will launch the Nexus 6. If it does indeed plan to start selling the device on Dec. 13, however, it should offer more information shortly. We'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned.
