The new HTC Desire 620 is officially ready to make its UK debut soon enough, as carrier O2 announced it will start selling the device in January.
Coming as a direct successor to the popular HTC Desire 610 handset, the new Desire 620 sports notable improvements on all fronts. Of course, the Desire lineup consists of affordable devices with decent specifications, so don't expect any top-notch specs to grace the Desire 620.
The new member of the Desire family sports a larger 5-inch Super LCD display with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor under the hood. Other specs include 1GB of RAM for a smooth performance, 8GB of internal storage capacity, and microSD card support for additional storage.
The HTC Desire 620 further comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and boasts a 5-megapixel front shooter as well, suitable for high-quality selfies and video chats. A 2,100 mAh battery will keep things up and running, while 4G LTE connectivity will make the whole package even sweeter. On the software side, the handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and HTC Sense 6 on top, but is expected to receive an update to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop next year.
In other words, the HTC Desire 620 doesn't feature any stellar specs, but should nonetheless deliver a decent performance on a budget.
The smartphone measures 9.6mm in thickness and weighs in at 145g, and will be available in three color schemes: white/blue, grey/grey, and grey/orange.
When it comes to commercial release and pricing, the new HTC Desire 620 will hit retail in the UK next month. As previously mentioned, carrier O2 has announced on Tuesday, Dec. 9, that it will start offering the handset in January, but no pricing details are available at this point.
Considering the specifications it packs, however, the HTC Desire 620 should come at a budget-friendly price point. The entire HTC Desire lineup is designed with affordability in mind, and this model is no exception.
