Misplaced your phone? You can now Google it from your PC browser

Finding your phone just got a lot easier in case you misplaced it around the house or lost it somewhere else, as now you can simply Google it.

This means that you don't need another phone to ring your device, nor some complex application or anything like that. All you need to do is open your browser (it doesn't even need to be Google's Chrome, any browser will do), head to Google.com and type "find my phone" in the search bar. Google will then mobilize a virtual search party and display your phone's location on a map and, if it's somewhere near like in the other room, you can ring it so you can find it easier.

In order for this to work, however, you have to make sure your phone is updated with the latest version of the Google app, but no other prerequisites are necessary. Google rolled out this neat new feature without any fanfare, it just made a simple announcement on its Google+ account.

"We've all been there - you've searched under your car seat, tossed around the sofa cushions and you still can't find your phone. If you know where your computer is, you can now ask Google to find your Android phone from your desktop. If the pesky phone is hiding nearby, Google can ring it for you - or you can see it on the map if you, say, forgot it at the bar. Just make sure you've got the latest version of the Google app!" Google explained.

As previously mentioned, you can perform this Google search for your phone from your computer's web browser. Needless to mention, you have to be signed into the same Google account on both your computer and your phone for this feature to access your phone's GPS and show you the device's location on a map. If you have two or more phones connected to your account, you'll see a dropdown menu that allows you to select which device you want to find. You won't be able to remotely wipe your device from your browser in case it got stolen, but this new feature could be a very convenient solution for when you misplace your handset.
