Purported LG G4 Mini (LG G4c) specs leak online, reveal mid-range smartphone

LG may have a mid-range LG G4 Mini (or Compact) version in the cards, if a new report turns out to be accurate.

The new LG G4 flagship made its official debut just recently, and is expected to hit commercial availability worldwide soon. Recent whispers have been mentioning an unannounced version of the smartphone - an LG G4c - and now a new report claims to have some specs details for the purported handset.

According to German publication WinFuture, the LG G4c (where the "c" could stand for "Compact") will be a smaller version of the flagship LG G4, and will sport mid-range specifications. The report claims the LG G4c has model number LG-H525N and could launch as the compact version of the LG G4.

The purported handset will reportedly feature a 5-inch IPS display with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and pack a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor under the hood, clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. Other leaked specs for this LG G4c include 8GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory, an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a selfie-friendly 5-megapixel front shooter. On the software side, the handset will reportedly run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, with LG's own custom UI on top.

WinFuture has also posted an image of the purported device, revealing the LG G4c with a patterned plastic design on its rear. The publication further notes that the LG G4 Mini should make its debut early next month, coming in metallic grey, white, and gold color options.

The smartphone is expected to sport a retail price of €279 and go on sale in Germany on June 5.

It's worth pointing out, however, that LG has yet to confirm any plans to launch a mid-range, mini version of its flagship LG G4, which means that it all remains in the rumor state for now. As always in such cases, it's best to take all leaks, rumors and reports with a hefty grain of salt until the company makes an official announcement. We'll make sure to keep an eye on things and keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned.
