The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua that made its debut back in March is ready to hit the UK, with an unlocked version launching this week.
With the Xperia Z series getting most of the attention, the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua didn't really stir much hype upon its announcement. Nevertheless, the handset is shaping up to be an attractive mid-ranger with an affordable price tag, and will become available for purchase in unlocked form later this week from Clove UK.
As a reminder, the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua features a 5-inch display with an HD resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels and packs an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor under the hood, paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB or 32GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies and video chats. On the software side, the smartphone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
As the name itself suggests, the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua also comes with waterproof and dust tight capabilities for extra durability, boasting IP 65/68 certification for water and dust resistance.
"The Xperia M4 Aqua is as durable as it is beautiful. Its innovative design protects it against water as well as fine dust particles so you'll never have to put it away 'just in case,'" Sony touts on the smartphone's product page.
Moreover, Sony claims that its Xperia M4 Aqua rocks a powerful battery that will last for up to two days on a single charge, which is quite attractive for a smartphone.
UK retailer Clove has announced that it will have the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua in stock soon, but offered no specific launch date other than "this week." Clove UK will sell the unlocked version of the Xperia M4 Aqua for £227.99 (including taxes), which sounds like a good price for a waterproof camera phone with good specifications and a long battery life.
