First-Person Experience With Minecraft's Story Mode

July 4, Saturday - Game creator Mojang and developer Telltale Games have shown a glimpse of the new Minecraft version by releasing a trailer. The new version of the game is called Minecraft: Story Mode. The trailer shows a promising gaming experience.

The game still centers on the Minecraft world, where players acquire and make use of items to make shelters for themselves. But this time, instead of simply going on an adventure inside the Minecraft world, players will have an interactive story and first-person experience in the creative game.

Collaborating with Telltale Games, is, after all, a telltale sign of the game developer's penchant for game stories. Among the games Telltale has pegged are Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. The episodic twist on the new Minecraft appears to be a winner with those following the game.

The premise of Minecraft: Story Mode, according to website cnet.com, is about the Minecraft world being chaotic after something went wrong with it. The main character, Jesse (voiced by actor Patton Oswalt), and his friends should look for the Order of Stone to beat coming enemies, and ultimately restore their world.

Minecraft: Story Mode will now be more of a point and click game, with stories behind every click. Different episodes will set the game on different backgrounds.Telltale Games has won awards with its creation of  story games.

The collaboration between Mojang and Telltale Games is projected by gamers to be a success. The already-popular Minecraft has been touted as both creative and educational. Most recently, it has made its way to US classrooms, and is close to becoming a mainstream teaching tool.

Minecraft: Story Mode will be released later this year, according to Telltale. The first episode is set to come out on PC, Mac, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and selected Android and iOS devices.
