AT&T Offers TV and Wireless Bundle For A Discounted Price

AT&T, one of the biggest telecommunications companies, is bringing wireless and TV services in a bundle for a promotional rate amounting to $200 per month. This applies for the first year within which the service has been availed. The bundle will be coming to customers beginning August 10.

According to a CNET report, the company will be offering four wireless accounts as part of the new service bundle. Aside from that, 10 GB's worth of sharable data is also being offered as part of the package. This is the first time a telecommunications company will be offering wireless services and television in one bundle, which can be paid under one bill. The amount is discounted. The two services, taken individually, may total about twice the promotional price.

Said Brad Bentley, chief marketing officer of AT&T, of the new service bundle, "Today is the first of many planned moves to enable our customers to enjoy a premium entertainment experience almost everywhere." Also listed in the service's introduction are other services for mobile, TV and internet.

Just last month, the company has sealed a deal with satellite TV provider, DirecTV. The acquisition is worth $49 billion. The acquisition and the new service the company offers resulting from it sets AT&T apart from its competitor in the telecommunications scene. To expand its variety of services, AT&T has acquired other companies such as Mexico's Iusacell and Nextel Mexico.

The service bundle comes at a time when television network providers are looking into expanding their services. The competition is stiff in the TV network and streaming business, where channels and services are aiming to cover huge varieties of media. Some, like Netflix and HBO, have begun transitioning online. Netflix already has a smartphone app HBO, on the other hand, has HBO Now, which has recently partnered with streaming service Verizon.
