IBM's New Service Helps Incorporate Macs To Enterprises

IBM and Apple have been partners for one year. Recent reports have had it that IBM purchases over 200,000 Macs every year to be used internally. Quite clearly, the company is incorporating Apple's computer into the business. And now, it has come up with a new feature that helps other big enterprises to do the same to their own businesses, incorporating Macs for internal use.

IBM's MobileFirst service gets an update that allows clients to order Mac units and deliver them to their employees right away. According to Computer World, the service does not require any additional configuration, setup and imaging, so business users can quickly have access to their own business accounts like emails and passwords. They will also be able to connect to networks safely and download business apps right away with their new Macs.

Apart from the addition to the MobileFirst portfolio, the 'bring your own device' feature also lets employees integrate their personal Mac units to the work computer. The settings will be delivered via cloud service, and will  also be available in the users' data centres.

The announcement of the new services for the partner companies, which are both big names in the tech community, has been made on Wednesday, August 5. The incorporation of thousands of Mac units in IBM is based on the company's firsthand experience with the Mac@IMB program, a collaboration of the two tech  giants.

IBM offers services that give updates to iOS devices such as iPads and iPhones. The company has also developed apps that are helpful for the better performance of the business devices and the clients themselves. Included in this array of handy business apps are apps for image management, network security, company cataloguing and even some self-help services.

IBM has been reported to have acquired more than 400 cloud patents in 2015. The cloud service is being developed further, with IBM saying that more improvements on the company's cloud portfolio are coming to the inventions that it has received. The cloud service has been helpful to IBM's partners, and this has been demonstrated by the company's partnership with Tokyo University. IBM's cloud computing device is an important tool for the university's research for cancer treatment.
