Microsoft Translator App Is Now Available To Android and iOS

Microsoft has recently introduced its very own translator app. The app is now available to Android and iOS users. Wearables which function with the operating systems are also given support for the app. Apple Watch and Android Wear also work with the new app, which is called the Microsoft Translator app. The company cannot get even more obvious than that in giving away what the app does.

The Microsoft Translator app works much like most translation apps available these days. It is most notably similar to Google Translate. But while the Google-made translator claims to be able to interpret twenty-seven languages, Microsoft Translator claims to support fifty. It has been said that Microsoft Translator can translate from both English to another language and another language to English.

The company bills the app as "built for enterprise." Microsoft indicated in its official website for the translator app that it "powers various Microsoft devices." To add to that, it is used by many businesses around the world.

According to the Indian Express, the app also supports the Hindi language. Hindi is the only Indian language supported by the app. A function very similar to that of Google Translate is the feature which lets the user direct his camera to signs in foreign characters and then the app instantly translates it. Google Translate has recently introduced this update, which it has already made available to both Android and iOS. The technology is based on WordLens, which works the same feature.

The app is unique in that it lets users copy and paste words to and from other apps to make translation quick and easy. Microsoft Translator also allows users to get words translated by voice or typewritten text. It can also voice out  translated phrases for users to properly pronounce the words.

The app is now available for download in Google Play and App Store. Microsoft Translator also works with Windows Phone. A free trial of the app is currently being offered at microsoft.com/translator.
