Facebook Announces Auto-play For Video Ads In Its Audience Network

On Wednesday, August 12, Facebook is opening up its auto-play video ads for publishers to monetize their ads and videos. According to the Financial Express, ads that are in and by the social networking site's Audience Network, if shown by the publisher, can be used to earn money for the publisher. Apart from the auto-play feature, Facebook has also added some other formats for the ads and video publishers.

The ad formats include the Dynamic Product Ads and Carousel Ads. The first one lets users see ads of items which they may have considered buying elsewhere, like, for instance, in a more traditional online shop or click-to-play ad. The Carousel Ads, on the other hand, presents a bigger picture of the product. The multi-image format allows the user to see aspects of the product and delve into the story behind it.

The social networking site's top ads will now be available in the Audience Network. Facebook has also announced that the Dynamic Product Ads will have an added feature for advertisers, allowing them to  suggest and show similar products to the users who have purchased specific items.

The social giant claims that Audience Network publishers get up to seven times better performance for their ads than traditional banners. Product Marketing Manager of Facebook, Brett Vogel, said that the auto-play has always been the most-requested feature of publishers for the video ads. Now, both Facebook and the publishers will be able to earn from the Audience Network revenues.

With this move, Facebook has gone further into its e-commerce and online video ventures. Recently, the company has added new features to Facebook Pages, allowing businesspersons to utilize the site to sell their products. The site has also begun testing  its commerce platform. On the video streaming side, Facebook is known to have started with video ads in establishing the online video platform. Now, it  seems to have gone back to its roots after making many improvements in the platform.
