Apple Offers Apple Watches In Bigger Sizes For Higher Prices

Aug. 17, Monday- Apple has decided that customers with wrists that are not as svelte as that of models should not have to make themselves stick-thin to fit into an Apple Watch. The company has begun to cater to clients with heftier wrist sizes with the release of band extenders for the device, as well as L/XL sizes for the watch bands, according to website ITProPortal.

The all important Large and Extra Large options have already been available under the sports band for the device. Aside from these size variations, extender kits are now available to adjust the diameter of the metal bands. If a customer underestimates his size, he can put a couple more links to extend the band to fit his size. If the size appears to be too big, he can remove the links. The size can be extended up to 245 mm.

The Apple Watch section of Apple's online store now presents buyers with new options for the band of the cheapest model. The L/XL Sports band is priced at $49. The Link Bracelet Kit for the metal band also costs $49, but is only available in silver as of the moment. The prices are considerably higher than the bands of smart watches, in general, which retail for about $25-$40, depending on the material used.

Recently, smartwatches have made the news in many tech websites. The Apple Watch's sales still continue to be scrutinized and questioned, as the company has not released official figures of the revenues earned from the device. Still, the Apple Watch is said to be the highest-selling smartwatch, garnering 75 percent of the total smartwatch market in the world. The company also boasts of the product's high satisfaction rate, which surpassed that of the iPhone's, at 97 percent.

Still on the smartwatch scene, Pebble has released its new wearable, the Pebble Time Steel. The device is a relatively minimal upgrade from the Pebble Time, with the material being the most notable difference. Korean startup Dot has also recently released the world's first ever Braille smartwatch.
