Microsoft Will Be Launching The Surface Pro 4 And Two Lumia Phones In October

Microsoft will be deferring from its usual Sept launch in the IFA event, which will be held in Berlin, of its newest products. Instead, the software company is planning to hold a massive customer event this coming October, in which it will subsequently introduce four new products: the Surface Pro 4, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL handsets and the Microsoft Band 2.

India Today reports that the October release may also be bringing in the roll out of the new Windows 10 phone. The operating system has been released in late July, and products have begun to roll out in early Aug. The two Lumia smartphone models, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, are leaked a lot. They are products of the restructuring for Microsoft's mobile arm since the massive blow it suffered after its failed partnership with Nokia.

The two smartphones are going to be flagships designed by the creative brain behind the company's Surface tablets, Panos Panay. Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are the last smartphones created under Stephen Elop, who joined Microsoft following the deal with Nokia that was closed last year. Elop has since left the company. The last devices for Microsoft under his supervision are frequent subjects of leaks online. They are equipped with Snapdragon processors and 20-megapixel rear cameras, which are obviously high-end features.

The Surface Pro 4, on the other hand, is Microsoft's latest tablet model. Speculations point to an upgraded processor and high-definition display for the gadget. A camera or a fingerprint scanner may arrive at the tablet as well. The last device in the list of the Oct. releases is the Microsoft Band 2, which is the company's fitness tracking technology. No further details have been disclosed about it.

The release of the four new and upgraded devices in October also raises the possibility of the introduction of a new and thinner Xbox One console, which is also part of the Windows 10 roll out. The device will receive an upgrade late this year. The next two months will be eventful for the Redmond-based tech giant. With new products and upgrades gracing the big event, there's really a lot in store for Microsoft supporters this year.
