Asus ZenFone 2 Will Come With 256GB Storage

Many smartphones today come with either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB storage. A 128GB storage capacity is already very rare for a smartphone. Thus, a 256GB-storage smartphone is making its way to the mobile market. Chinese tech company Asus has introduced a new version of the ZenFone 2, the second generation smartphone from the brand.

Engadget notes that users will not be needing an SD card for the device, as the storage is already eight times more than that of the standard smartphone. Asus is not known to be a prominent name in the Apple and Samsung-dominated mobile market. But being the first to introduce a 256GB variant may spell change for the company.

No word has come out yet as to when the Deluxe Edition ZenFone 2 will hit the smartphone market. The ZenFone 2, a smartphone that is powered by Android, has been announced in January this year, and has been on sale since March.

It also has a dual SIM feature that allows dual stand-by and dual call for micro-SIM. The device has a front camera and a rear camera, which make the ZenFone 2 a selfie-friendly smartphone. From the reviews of the original ZenFone 2, the gaming performance is a selling point of the device. The same can be expected in the Deluxe Edition, as it is also equipped with 4GB RAM, and is virtually identical to the original Zenfone 2, except for the cavernous storage capacity.

The 256GB storage capacity can still be expanded to up to 384GB according to 'The Verge'. No date has been specified regarding the release of the new edition of the smartphone. Perhaps the downside of this news is that the device will only be released in Brazil. Asus has not expressed any intention of making the ZenFone 2 Deluxe available anywhere else around the world, at least for now. The price of the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Edition has also not been disclosed.
