A Social Network That Turns You In An Immortal AI

A newly launched social network called ETER9 offers its users the chance to live forever by turning their personality into an artificial intelligence avatar that learns from their actions and thoughts how to interact and post in their absence. ETER9 is developed by the Portuguese IT company AUTO.NET with the aim to provide people with a modern version of "the elixir of eternity".

Through a user's posts, comments and interactions with other members of the social network, the AI avatar is able to learn the personality, interests and likes, of a user. A section of the website called Cortex will store virtual memories which the AI will use in the future to keep publishing even when the user is not online.

According to ETER9 CEO Henrique Jorge told, the new social network is not "just another social network". More and more people are attracted on the platform by the concept of immortality and digital avatar, which makes all the difference with the traditional social networks, added the CEO.

ETER9 proposes an innovative concept of digital immortality that promises to be like an elixir of eternity for its users. According to Jorge, the new social network provides a form of social interaction for the new generation, where interactions take place with both humans and virtual beings. He added that ETER9 can create a New Reality where eternity is within reach and anything can become possible.

According to reports, users of ETER9 have the possibility to decide on the activity level of their AI avatar through the settings of their account. By activating the Eternity setting, they are also able to choose whether or not to allow their digital avatar to stay active forever. When a new user first signs up, this function is automatically enabled by default.

Virtual beings called Niners can also interact with each other, as well as with human users within the social network. According to some analysts, this can lead to the absurd scenario of all the human members leaving the ETER9 social network and artificial intelligence beings continuing to interact between themselves.

According to reports, ETER9 isn't the first digital service that aims to offer people the chance to become immortal through their digital footprint. Researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) unveiled last year a similar project that would create a "virtual you", capable of interacting with friends, family members and even ancestors after their death. The service is called Eterni.me and for the moment it is still in a private beta stage. It is still to be seeb how accurately it can replicate a user's personality.
