Canon's New DSLR Camera is 120 Megapixels

Tokyo, Japan- camera maker Canon has announced another breakthrough for its cameras. The new DSLR camera made by the company is equipped with a 120-megapixel image sensor, and Canon has announced plans of developing another device that can take videos that are almost eight times as clear as footages taken by regular DSLR cameras. The announcement comes just a day after the popular camera maker announced a new high-capacity image sensor.

According to a report from PC World, the new 120-megapixel camera captures photos that reach a size that is about four times as big as image sizes generated by regular DSLR cameras, at 232 MB. The resolution is double those of Canon's EOS 5DS and 5DS R cameras, which both have a 50.6-megapixel resolution. The camera is said to be able to work with 60 camera lenses from the company. Canon has made 96 lenses for its cameras in total.

The images produced by the device, with the high resolution, sharpness and clarity, and add to that the big file size will be able to work very well as printed posters. The company has not expressed any plans of commercializing the new 120-megapixel DSLR.

The upcoming camera will have a 300 ppi pixel density, reaching the limit of  the human eye. The device has not been announced to be for commercialization either.

When installed in a camera, the technology will enable the device to capture small details clearly from long distances. The new image sensor also boasts of high speed despite its huge megapixel count. The 250-megapixel sensor also lets cameras produce video footages that are thirty times as clear as those produced by the 4K format.
