Periscope Is Developing A Livestreaming App For Apple TV

Apple has showed off the new iPhone 6S and the revamped Apple TV in its San Francisco launching event. The event, which has been on live webcast in Safari and Microsoft Edge, has had speculators anticipating the Cupertino tech giant's newest releases, which reports say are equipped with new features to attract an even bigger share in the market.

The Apple TV has been said to have refocused its main function. The new Apple TV is now made for gaming and it comes with a remote that serves as a game controller. Earlier reports have indicated that the device incorporates Apple's voice assistant, Siri. Also, the improved remote has been said to come with the motion sensor technology. Apple TV is recently reported to give users access to its games in the App Store.

The small black box, which works as a partner for streaming videos, that is, before it has been revamped, will have its own App Store. Periscope, the Twitter-owned livestreaming app, has been reported to develop a separate app for the device. The new device will be bringing in a couple of apps, so Periscope's development will be coming in as well, sources say.

What's the Periscope app for? According to Tech Crunch, no details have been confirmed regarding the functionality of the app, but it will most likely be one for streaming videos. Periscope, after all, is a livestreaming app and it has been able to make videos viewable on the internet without broadcasting them. In April, it has also launched a mobile streaming app. Periscope has over 10 million registered users.

No release date has been announced for Periscope on Apple TV. The new Apple TV has been highly anticipated by Apple followers, and it has frequented tech news in the internet over the past few weeks leading to the Apple launching event, in which it is just released. 

Meanwhile, the iPhone 6S has been launched alongside the Apple TV. The newest smartphone model from Apple boasts a 3D Touch feature, which allows app shortcuts as it distinguishes among three levels of pressure. Recently, iPhone sales have been reported to be dropping, and the company is taming measures to offer a smarter iPhone to its customers.
