Spotify Running Comes To Android

Running is not exactly a new fitness activity for health buffs, but it is one where technology joins in to enhance the experience. These days, people who run are usually seen with their earphones on -- music playlists arranged to hype them up for the physical activity. Wearable devices are even made for physical activities such as tracking steps and monitoring heart rate.

Accompanying these technologies are apps that allow users to enjoy the exercise more. Music streaming service Spotify has a feature called Spotify Running, which it claims is specifically made for the activity. The app function has already come to iOS devices. Four months after, Spotify Running has finally been made available to Android, too.

Spotify Running comes with predesigned playlists comprised of upbeat tracks to get the running users all set for their exercise. According to Dispatch Times, the playlists have four categories: Recommended, Indie Kick, Upbeat and Mood Booster. Spotify said that it wants the new software to be the "perfect companion" for budding runners who use the app.

The tempo of the songs can be adjusted manually to match the user's preference. The track selection contains different genres, from pop, hiphop, electronic, indie, classical and others that are originals from Spotify. For the feature to work, users will have to select the tempo that they like and then start running. Spotify Running matches the user's step to the music time so that the track is exactly paced with the users themselves.

The 30-day free trial for Spotify Running is now available in the company's official website. The function within the app will get runners and non-runners alike on their feet, running at their own pace and enjoying their own music as well. Think you may want to give Spotify Running a shot on your smartphone? Then you may get it on the iTunes Store and Google Play Store as well.
