Star Ocean V: Integrity And Faithlessness Gets Its Gameplay Trailer and Japanese Release Date

Square Enix has always played a big part in the Tokyo Games Show held annually in Japan. After all, the Japanese video game company has been known for its widely popular games such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Valkyrie Profile and more. Among the biggest announcements they made was the fifth installment to the critically acclaimed Star Ocean franchise, Star Ocean V: Integrity and Faithlessness.

Square Enix at Tokyo Games Show 2015 unveiled a new gameplay trailer. And as expected, the gameplay trailer is visually stunning -- character designs are wonderful and locations are rendered beautifully. It comes with an action-packed battle system that's colorful and stylish in typical Star Ocean fashion.

Square Enix also added an exact release date at the end of the clip. The game is set to come out February 26 next year in Japan for both the Playstation 3 and the Playstation 4, but there is still no official statement as to when it will be specifically released in the West. Reports also suggest that the game will only be released outside Japan in its Playstation 4 version. This would mean that Western gamers are required to purchase or upgrade to a Playstation 4 should they wish to play Star Ocean V when it comes out in their respective regions.

There are still a couple of months before Star Ocean V comes out in Japan officially, so gamers can expect more gameplay videos and trailers to appear online.

Developed by tri-Ace in partnership with Square Enix, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is set to take place between the events of Star Ocean: The Second Story and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, respectively the second and third installments in the franchise. The protagonist, Fidel Camuze, is a fencer who protects his home village and Miki Sauvester is set to be the heroine of the game.
