Apple iOS 9 Feature Lets You Know How Much Time You Have Wasted On Facebook And Games

Apple's iOS 9 appears to have been made to match the multitasking function the company wants for its newest devices. The operating system is said to be more energy efficient, with settings that allow users to squeeze in more tasks with an improved battery life. And since productivity is the thing for Apple's iOS 9 devices, the OS comes with a feature that indicates just how well (or not) you have used your time.

According to The Daily Mail UK, a function that can be found on the battery settings of the iOS 9 device lists the user's most frequently used apps for a certain period of time, like for example, the last 24 hours. The feature reveals how much battery life has been consumed in using the app for an amount of time. For example, 40 percent of the user's battery has been used playing Candy Crush for one hour, and 10 percent has been used browsing Facebook for 12 minutes.

Further upping the energy efficiency feature of the new OS is the option to switch on the Power Saver mode. This appears when the battery only has 20 percent left. The feature once turned on, will stop automatic downloads. Refreshing in apps and emails will also be stopped once the Power Saver mode has been activated, allowing handsets to extend their energy.

The iOS 9 has been released last Wednesday, Sept 16. The OS has rolled out to some of Apple's latest devices, like the iPad Pro, the iPad Air 2, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. The energy-saving features have been the highlight of many iOS 9 reviews, which includes one released by CNET. Apart from that, an improved Siri search is also a plus side of the iOS 9.

Apple has earlier been reported to be hiring more experts to make Siri smarter. And the virtual assistant in the iOS 9 seemed to have shown improvement. The voice assistant can now take a wider range of voice commands and users can now get Siri to remind them of tasks and show them their own files, among other things. The Search has become more proactive, showing frequently used contacts, important dates, etc. That's iOS 9 for real work.
