Cortana Will Be Coming To Xbox One Next Year

Microsoft's smart virtual assistant will not be rolling out to Xbox One this year. It has ealier been reported that Cortana will be coming to Xbox One gamers late this year. The intelligent voice assistant has been rolling out with other Windows 10 devices since the operating system has been released in July. Microsoft has been integrating Cortana into many of its existing technologies.

Tech Times reported that the software giant has been testing a new dashboard for the Xbox One, which will be powered by the Windows 10 OS. The updated dashboard will bring in new features for the gaming console, which includes Cortana. Video demonstrations have already made their rounds over the internet.

Director for programming at Xbox Live, Larry Hryb, has suggested that the virtual concierge will not be coming to the gaming console this year. Hryb said, "Our plan is to add Cortana to the Xbox One experience preview later this year. From there, we'll ensure that the experience is tuned for gamers bfore we officially launch Cortana in 2016." Microsoft has been showing Cortana updates to a select group of users. The latest update will be showing a preview of Cortana for Xbox One.

The reason for the launch's delay has not been disclosed by Microsoft. The integration of Cortana in Xbox One has been announced in June this year. No release date has been confirmed for Cortana for Xbox One. Cortana is poised to be the Xbox One gamer's "personal gaming assistant", claimed an Xbox blog. The virtual assistant will be able to help gamers up their game levels by voice commands.

Xbox One is the second best selling gaming console in the game market, following Sony's PS4. Microsoft's gaming console has been reported to have reached around 13 million units in sales this year. Microsoft has neither confirmed nor denied the figures that have been reported.
