Need For Speed Achieves A Successful Reboot

There is no doubt that Need For Speed is one of the longest running franchise games in the video game history. With the latest reboot, players can now go head to head and earn "reps" and make themselves known worldwide.

Need For Speed has done a great job in catering different driving references in its last few releases. From the original The Need For Speed title back in 1994 to its latest "No Limits" for the iOS and Android smartphone, the newest release may just be the most accessible instalment yet.

The franchise has been in the business for a very long time with different fan bases from different eras, whether it is the time when cars grip the asphalt and the time when there was more prominence on drifting. Tuning and customization is a common scenario in a lot of racing games, and the next video game deals a lot of selections to personalize handing styles.

Arcade racing is a popular genre, and oftentimes players are self-assured that they can place well in multiplayer racing. Rebooting in a thoughtful manner, the game's multiplayer score attack is called the "Rep Attack." Its key is on the variety of skill-based driving styles that has been popular in the series these many years like drifting, drag, and even police notoriety. This does not come as a surprise as developer Ghost Games is a studio well-known for its risk-taking style of driving like its "Burnout" series.

With Rep Attack, players earn points as they compete with seven other players. From near car misses, slick drifting, to those annoying police car chases. A match starts with a point-to-point race. When the race is over, every driver is left with several minutes to gather rep points however they see fit. Some can opt to lure the cops into a chase, others can just choose free roam. The hands-on experience manages to emulate visual realism and intensity.

Need For Speed's attention to specific car details are never more deceptive than in the garages. Rather than presenting the cars in their most unspoiled state, the cars in the collection have a "used" look, as if it was out on a rainy day in the last couple hours. The game is out in stores Nov. 3.
