Samsung has consumer electronics products all around the market. The South Korean giant simply is a gigantic company that it manufactures home appliances to mobile devices to laptops, and its portfolio of offerings has become a welcomed addition to the world.

The Ativ Book series, Samsung's laptop offerings, have been hot in the market with their ultra portable form factor and star-studded specs. Now, the company sees it fit to once again update the line-up with a 4K display and discrete graphics to please the crowd once again.

The Ativ Book 9 Pro by Samsung features Intel's latest sixth-generation Core i7 CPUs and NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 950M GPU. As for the display, it has fitted with a 15.6-inch 4K panel - making it the company's first ultrabook offering with that much resolution. Relatively, Samsung's late release of an Ultrabook with 4K display may come off as a surprise as the South Korean company has been producing display panels in every size and resolution. Furthermore, the Pro offering in the Ativ Book 9 line-up can deliver up to 6.5 hours of battery life. And similar to other models in its family, the Ativ Book 9 Pro also features a slim and tapered front profile.

Other features included in the Ativ Book 9 include a standard 8 GB of memory, 256 GB of speedy solid state drive storage, a reversible USB Type C port, Wi-Fi Booster and quad speakers for anyone's multimedia needs. It currently carries a USD $1599 price tag, which would put it in direct competition with Apple's MacBook Pro 15 and Dell's XPS 15.

Other than that, Samsung has also launched an ATIV Book 9 Spin that, as its name suggests, can rotate to 360 degrees. It comes with a cheaper price tag at USD $1,399, but those who want it would be sacrificing its 15.6-inch 4K display in place of a 13-inch QHD+ touchscreen display. Aside from that, most of the Spin's hardware specs come in light with that of the Pro.
