Samsung still sees flip phones as grand that it has its Galaxy Golden smartphones in its library. In recent news, the Galaxy Golden 3, which is the latest of its kind, received its certificate from the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) in China.

Flip phones have become from hip and chic to secondary when Android and iOS devices took over the world by storm. While they can still be seen from time to time, smartphones still take the cake when it comes to mobile world domination. However, flip phone enthusiasts may find this new device interesting. 

The Samsung SM-W2016, which was seen listed on the database of GFXBench a couple of weeks ago and is alleged as the South Korean tech giant's next flip phone, has recently been certified by the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) in China. While there were no images included in the report, it did however give a glimpse of the key hardware specifications it would reportedly have.

According to reports, the purported Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 will have a foldable screen that features 3.9-inch display panels on its internal and external sides, and both will come with 768 x 1280 resolution. Although, GFXBench records list it at 4.6 inches, which would be relatively important to note as the benchmark listings have gotten it wrong a couple of times before.

As far as its internals go, the Galaxy Golden 3 will be equipped with a 2.1 GHz octa-core processor, along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, the new device will not come with a microSD card slot. The TENAA listing doesn't reveal what chipset type it features, but reports suggest that it will be a high-end Exynos 7 SoC and Mali-T760MP8 GPU. It will come with a 16MP primary shooter and a 5MP selfie snapper. Furthermore, it will also be running Android 5.1.1 out of the box.
