Apple's Next 4-Incher Will Be Based On The iPhone 5S

There are people who still prefer phones that do not come with large screens or handsets that fit nicely in the palm of their hands. However, as Apple sought to catch up and battle against the monolithic Android phablets with bigger screens, hence the birth of Cupertino's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Latest rumors suggest that the company is planning to once again bring a compact 4-inch iPhone based on the iPhone 5S to please its loyal fanatics.

Mac Otakara, a reputable website from Japan, claimed that the new 4-inch iPhone named "iPhone 5s Mark II", has already entered production. Furthermore, the new model will likely be shipped any time soon.

First of, Apple's iPhone 5S is the inspiration behind the new 4-inch iPhone and not the iPhone 5C. As such, it would be expected that the supposed iPhone will carry the same design language of the iPhone 5S - sharp edges over the seamless corners from the latest iPhones.

The report also suggests that it will feature Apple's A8 chip, complete with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and an upgraded hardware specs sheet. While it's expected to have an improved FaceTime HD camera with F2.2 aperture, it will most likely drop the 3D Touch.

The news followed the report from reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also speculated that the new 4-inch iPhone might be equipped with several hardware upgrades. It would most likely launch in the first half of next year - a speculation that has also been shared by other rumors that have surfaced as of late.

Ming-Chi Kuo previously claimed that Apple's up and coming 4-inch iPhone will feature the company's A9 processor to support iOS 9 and iOS 10. However, his prediction about the chip would seem as more of a guesswork rather than intel that came from Apple's own supply chain.
