Google Introduces A Bunch Of Exciting Keyboard Updates

Google rolled out its latest Google Keyboard 5.0 with a bunch of exciting updates to look forward to, dwarfing all its previous updates.

The company made a major facelift of its user interface and brought a bunch of functionalities. For instance, it permits users to change the keyboard's shape and size on the fly and using one hand, the Tech Times reported.

The one-handed mode toggle allows Google Keyboard to customize the size of screen it wants to accommodate. The new Keyboard Height slider can be resized from short to tall, depending on what is most convenient for the user. The mode is accessible by hitting the comma on the search or enter button a long press. A button to return to the standard mode can also be found.

The new update comes with a way smarter gesture commands. A swipe of the Delete key to the left erases words, while sliding either the left or right side across the space bar brings the cursor anywhere the user wants it to be.

Furthermore, Google finally eradicated the floating window and placed a suggestion bar for predicted words instead. It also introduced a nine-key layout, allowing digit typing especially on spreadsheets or online forms an easy breezy task to do. Options are located on either side of the space bar.

According to Greenbot, it is also advancing its predictive game as it turned on an option that allows to share "snippets of what and how you type in Google apps to improve Google keyboard."

Even though Google chopped off the vintage Holo options, the Material Light and Material Dark themes are still available. Plus, one can still add individual keys outline to help guide their fingers in appropriately choosing the targets.

As per Android Police, Google is slowly unveiling these new changes. But the stunningly much-awaited changes are on APK Mirror already.
