On Tuesday, May 3, Philips has launched in the United States a new computer monitor that offers a 4K Ultra HD LCD display and 43 inches of screen space.
According to Digital Trends, the computer screen features a 3840 x 2160 resolution. This latest model in the Philips Brilliance line comes with a 5ms response time and provides a 178-degree viewing angle (horizontally or vertically). The response time is significantly better than the 8ms offered by the 40-inch model in Philips lineup.
For those computer users that consider a standard 32-inch monitor just not big enough, this Philips new 4K 43-inch display might be the answer. The company claims that this is not a TV but definitely a computer monitor.
The new Philips 4K 43-inch is called BDM4350UC and it is presented on the company's website. The 42.51-inch IPS LCD panel provides a pixel density of 104 PPI. This pixel density is almost similar to that of a smaller 27-inch 1440p display. For users, that means they could use the monitor at its native resolution without the need for any display scaling.
According to Tech Spot, aside from a size suitable for high information density, the BDM4350UC comes with the typical specifications for a computer monitor. Users get a contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1, and brightness of 300 nits. Philips' newest monitor also offers support for 1.07 billion colors (10-bit color).
The monitor comes with five inputs: two HDMI 2.0 with MHL, two DisplayPort and one VGA. Other features included are two 7-watt built-in speakers and a four-port USB 3.0 hub. The BDM4350UC also comes with a function called MultiView that allows users to connect multiple devices to the monitor. These devices are displayed simultaneously on different areas of the screen, feature that is particularly useful for multitasking or for a shared family display.
This computer monitor caters to engineers, videographers, graphic designers and photographers. It can also be the ideal display for PC gamers. The Philips BDM4350UC 4K Ultra HD 43-inch monitor is currently listed on Amazon for $799.99.
