‘Mortal Kombat X’ Mobile Version Gets New Content, Game Features And Challenge Characters

The mobile version of "Mortal Kombat X" is celebrating its first anniversary in May. As an anniversary treat, Warner Bros. Interactive has announced on Thursday, May 12, that the mobile game will receive new content, new gameplay features, as well as new characters for free.

The free "Mortal Kombat X" first year anniversary DLC has been described by Warner Bros. as the mobile version's "largest content update since launch," Gamespot reports. Players will enjoy new features and content such as new rewards, a new game currency and many more. Some performance improvements were also made on the game's matchmaking system and character balance updates.

Apart from these, Warner Bros. has also included a complete overhaul of the game's Faction Wars system. Players will even enjoy a special first anniversary giveaway, namely, a Fujin's Blessing support card as well as an abundant supply of Souls. These two treats will automatically be given to gamers who will log in to the mobile version of "Mortal Kombat X," as stated in the same report.

Below is a complete list of the game's new content and features:

New Faction War Store and Currency

- Blood Rubies, a new type of currency obtained through Faction Wars, have now been implemented and can be used in the brand-new Faction War Store. Improved leaderboards and more frequent Faction War Seasons give players more opportunities to win and earn rewards.

New Rewards

- Two new exclusive Gold Characters, Kobu Jutsu Tanya and Dark Emperor Liu Kang, and three new pieces of equipment including the Bloody Shokan Armor, Bloody Voodoo Doll and Bloody Tomahawk.

New Challenge Characters

- Five new Challenge Characters will be added over time, including Challenges to obtain new skins including Marksman Kung Jin, Dark Lord Kotal Kahn, Klassic Kano and more.

These new game add-ons to the mobile version of "Mortal Kombat X" may likely be what avid players have been waiting for. The first year anniversary free DLC could also be considered a good incentive to attract gamers to revisit "Mortal Kombat X," as indicated in a report posted on Touch Arcade.

The free update is already available for the iOS mobile version of "Mortal Kombat X." However, the same update for the game's Android version will soon be released.
