The FitBit Blaze is the newest smart fitness watch from FitBit. It can record heart rate, rides, sleep quality, calories consumed and calories burnt.

According to the website bycycling.com, the FitBit Blaze comes with an optical heart-rate sensor that allows the wearer to track daily heart rate patterns and measure heart rate at any time. The exercise function can be set to upload directly to Strava and allows cyclists to record rides.

Like many other fitness trackers, the FitBit Blaze does not feature a GPS. If riders plan on tracking the elevation and distance of their rides, they will need to carry a phone or dedicated GPS unit.

The fitness tracker comes with an accompanying app that allows users track many different measures of overall health, including water consumed throughout the day, calories eaten and burnt, steps taken, hours slept, weight and body mass percentage. Through the FitStar function, the FitBit Blaze watch also provides three workouts.

The way to guide through the workouts is simple. The current move will display on the watch's face, and it will vibrate when it is time to move to the next one.

The Blaze comes with three bands available options: leather, soft plastic and stainless steel links. The FitBit Blaze's face is similar to that of the Apple Watch, but squarer and larger.

Customers can choose from several watch colors to match their own style. The Fitbit Blaze costs costs $199 and the Aria smart scale is sold separately for $130. The device integrates with the Fitbit app and provides information on total body weight and composition.

According to The Dallas Morning News, the Blaze looks to be the largest fitness tracker band produced by FitBit so far. The gadget has an interesting design, looking like a watch, while every other FitBit model looks like a fitness band.

On a single charge, the FitBit Blaze can last up to five days. In order to charge, the fitness tracker has to be removed from its band.
