Nintendo NX has since been in the rumor mill, at least, as far as the talks have started. And according to the latest reports about it, the upcoming console is expected to be massive hit in the market. This interesting prediction came from the retail company GameStop.

According to The Christian Times, retailer GameStop is expecting Nintendo NX to be a huge thing as soon as it is released. During the electronics retail company's earnings call, Mike Hogan, the executive VP of Strategy and Business Development, claimed that the console has all the potentials of becoming a successful platform.

If Nintendo NX will perform above what Wii did, it is possible to reach a figure as huge as 7.5 billion units in terms of incremental sales on a particular timeframe. Hogan iterated that GameStop's forecast is the closest prediction to date.

Hogan also said that Nintendo NX will likely gain an advantage in the market, especially if it utilizes game cartridges compared to the usual optical discs. It should be noted that game cartridges have been considered obsolete for at least 20 years already.

GameNGuide, on the other hand, notes that GameStop's Nintendo NX prediction heavily focuses on the impact that the console will bring to the gaming sector of things. With such will, in one or another, decide the console's fate as soon as it is released.

As of this writing, Nintendo has remained mum about the console's specifications as well as what it will offer. Nonetheless, it is believed to feature a kind of home system that will introduce a connectable handheld controller.

The release date for Nintendo NX is pushed back to March 2017. This is due to the company's decision to focus on accumulating a set of varied titles that will be used for the forthcoming gaming console.

And if the speculations are true, Nintendo NX might be introduced in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The event will begin on June 14 and will end come June 16.
