Beautiful Graphics, Same Combat System
Metro praised "Blood and Wine" for its massive open world, which is said to be more interesting than other games in their entirety. "Witcher 3's" in-game graphics was already stunning from the start.
"Blood and Wine" gets plus points since it adds to the game's beautiful visuals, with its impeccable use of color and an outstanding art design. For example, the new South of France-inspired region, Toussaint, as a fantasy picture, postcard come to life with stunning details that are comparable to Tolkien's Middle Earth.
It should be pointed out, however, that while the game looks visually stunning, there is no notable change to the combat system. IGN reports that the new DLC seems to veer away from the doom and gloom of Velen and takes Geralt to the colorful Toussaint, where he interacts with a whole cast of interesting characters. The publication is particularly taken by the Duchess Anna Henrietta, described as an embodiment of Toussaint itself. In addition, a certain character will be making a return in "Blood and Wine", although nothing else was revealed about him or her.
The expansion alone takes around 20-25 hours to finish, giving Geralt plenty of things to do and a huge new area to explore. The new expansion's story revolves around vampires, with tons of surprising new twists every step of the way.

IGN gives "Blood and Wine" a final score of 9 out of 10, praising its beautiful new region, strong story and strategic boss battles. While Metro gave it a final rating of 8 out of 10.
Overall, "Blood and Wine" seems to be a marvelous addition to the already great "Witcher 3" experience, and a fitting end to Geralt of Rivia's adventure.
