Atlus USA has finally announced the launch date for the much anticipated JRPG "Persona 5," along with the release of its Collector's Edition. Contrary to the rumors about the it being cancelled, "'Persona 5' is "100% still coming out on Playstation 3", Hardin confirmed.

The PS3 version will come in a regular case and will have a price tag of $49.99. The game's launch will be on the same date as Valentines Day. "The Phantom Thieves are coming to take your heart on February 14, 2017," Atlus USA's PR Manager John Hardin said on the Playstation Blog.

Atlus has also revealed its much coveted "Take Your Heart" Collector's Edition, which now available for pre-order for $89.99.

The special bundle, which is exclusive to Playstation 4 owners, will include the "Persona 5" game in a Steelbook case, a 64-page hardbound art book, a Shujin Academy replica school bag, a soundtrack CD and a 4" Morgana plush toy. The items will all be inside a special plaid collector's box.

For those who are only after the game, a Steelbook edition is also available, which includes the steelbook and the game only. This retails at $59.99 and is only available for in PS4 versions.

"Persona 5" has been a victim of several release date delays, IGN reports. The game was originally announced in 2013, with a winter 2014 release date window. Atlus then announced at Tokyo Game Show 2015 that the game will be pushed back to Summer 2016.

Hardin acknowledges this concern on the Playstation Blog. "Well, the biggest factor in the 2017 release date is attention to detail," Hardin said. "We're making sure every bit is in place."

"Persona has exponentially grown as a franchise,"Hardin continued. "And considering that this is our first numbered sequel since 2008, Atlus is taking its time to ensure this is the best possible experience."

"Persona 5" will be showcased at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, next week. Character designer Shigenori Soejima will be there for a Q&A panel and meet and greet, and will also talk about the character designs in the game. Atlus will also give away limited edition items, including a cute Morgana hat.
