'Outlander' Latest News: ‘GOT’ Author George R. R. Martin Upset At Show’s Emmy Snub: Will Season 3 Get Tobias Menzes The Award He Deserves?

There should have been no reason for "Game of Thrones" author George R. R. Martin to be upset about this year's Emmy's. After all, Emmy's showed some love towards the series as evidenced by nominations of Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and most especially, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) among others.

As it turned out to be, "Game of Thrones" has proven itself again this year. However, George R. R. Martin discusses there should have been more done for the other series he loves watching and that is the "Outlander". For a lack of a better term, the author believes the "Outlander" series is robbed of its merit.

Being good friends with the author of the "Outlander books," Diana Gabaldon, co-author George R. R. Martin is clearly supportive of the "Outlander" series. Though he was happy of the acknowledgement of "Game of Thrones" this year (with 23 nominations in total), Martin suggests that there should have been more recognition provided towards the series.

As his comments spoke clearly of this on his website Not a Blog, he feels that the series should have gotten their share of the Emmy Nominations.

The author reiterated that the role of Tobias Menezes, the series' lead actor, was great in the show. Without doubt, it was an indication that the actors of the Outlander series should have their share of credit as well.

Based on a time-travelling theme as its story plot, "Outlander" is based on the books written by Diana Gabaldon. The story is all about the World War II nurse Claire Randall, played by Caitriona Balfe and her conquest following her travel back in time to Scotland in 1743.

Meanwhile, the premiere of the "Outlander" Season 3 is set to provide high hopes of avoiding the Emmy nominations snub next year.
