Apple Acquires Italian Music Software Maker Redmatica: Report

Apple, in its zest of offering its own music software, has recently acquired an Italian music-editing software maker called Redmatica.

The report was first published by Italian blog Fanpage. The blog has reported to have found some evidence from the Italian communications regulator AGCOM that substantiate their claim of Apple's acquisition of the software.

Redmatica, which develops and sells software for digital music editing, is a startup developed by Andrea Gozzi. The company's flagship product is Keymap Pro, says Fanpage. The software comprises of instruments editor targeted towards creative sampler users and extends its file support to all the major instrument formats on the market, including Apple EXS24, Native Instrument Kontakt3 and more.

Apple, already, has its own music applications like GarageBand and iTunes and the new software from Redmatica is expected to allow extra functionality into its existing products.

Fanpage also mentions that Redmatica's domestic turnover is just € 100,000 per year.

However, neither Apple not Redmatica has confirmed the reported acquisition.
