Samsung Galaxy Note 7 News & Update: New Leaked Video Demonstrates Iris Scanner Feature

A leaked video have emerged online, reiterating speculations about the iris scanner technology that will be present in the next generation Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

There have been many rumors about the new iris scanner feature that have been supposedly implemented by Samsung in its upcoming Galaxy Note 7. In case that the rumor will prove to be true, then the flagship device will be the first consumer handset from the South Korean company to bring this technology to the market.

According to the online publication SamMobile, the video that shows off the iris scanner in action present in the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 headset has been leaked out of China. Instead of the rumored dual-edge curved display, the Galaxy Note 7 mobile device shown in the video features a flat display.

Some tech analysts have expressed their doubt that the online leaked video actually shows the real Galaxy Note 7. They believe that the video could be a fake, since most of the tech experts believe that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is due to come with a dual-edge curved display.

Other tech experts, however, consider the leaked video as been genuine. The explanation for the flat display of the device presented in the video might be the fact that the South Korean company concealed the real appearance of the Galaxy Note 7by creating full-fledged prototypes of the flat variant in order to test the hardware.

This might be the case, but so many pictures and renders of the upcoming flagship Galaxy Note 7 smartphone have been leaked online. This made that the efforts of the company to keep the real design of the device secret have all gone in vain.

According to GSM Arena, in the video leaked online the iris scanner technology is used to unlock the phone. Aside of the controversy regarding the design of the smartphone's display, the video shows that the iris scanner works well and it is as fast as expected.

The new feature would make it very easy for Galaxy Note 7 users to gain access to the smartphone.  Samsung is expected to formally unveil the device on August 2, when it will also announce the release date and its price.
