2016 Macbook To Replace 2016 Macbook Air Line

The 2016 MacBook is rumored to be the replacement for the 2016 MacBook Air. Apple has yet to release the 2016 MacBook Air.

MacBook Air fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming 2016 model. Various rumors on its release date and specs have been circulating. However, there is another rumor going that will render the matter moot. It seems that Apple has no intention of releasing the 2016 MacBook Air.

The tech company will instead promote the MacBook line to replace the MacBook Air, according to an earlier iTechPost report. Apple's continued silence about the delay is adding fuel to the rumor. Some observers compared the updates the MacBook and MacBook Air got last April.

Apple gave the MacBook a power upgrade and added another color option, the Rose Gold. In contrast, only the MacBook Air 13" model got updated with an on board memory of 8 GB, according to MacWorld. This can be taken as a subtle hint that the MacBook Air Line will get the axe.

However, such rumor has not been confirmed yet and a lot of MacBook Air fans will be terribly disappointed if it were true. Many are resigned to the notion that any new MacBook Air released this year will only have minor improvements over the previous model.

Instead, Industry observers such as Apple product expert Ming-Chi Kuo made an earlier statement that a 13" MacBook may soon be launched to take the place of the MacBook Air model of the same size. Kantar research team leader, Carolina Milanesi, thinks that Apple is now embarking on removing some its MacBook product lines. The MacBook Air is loved by its fans because of it is thin and light. But the 2016 MacBook beats the current Air models on both counts.

To date, Apple sells the MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. Out of the three lines, only the MacBook line has the 2016 versions.
