Prepaid iPhone: Boost Mobile Looking to Follow Cricket Wireless

iPhone is all set to step into the prepaid world with Cricket Wireless. This leading provider of wireless services announced that it is going to offer iPhone as pre-paid phones for the first time in the US. And, if reports are to be believed, Sprint's prepaid division, Boost Mobile, could be following its step.

Cricket Communications announced, Thursday, they will be offering iPhone on prepaid plan from June 22. This regional prepaid carrier is all set to sell smartphone without a contract. "Our customers want the best products available and we are excited to bring iPhone to our pre-paid consumers with an industry leading $55 per-month service plan," said Doug Hutcheson, president and CEO, Leap Wireless International, Inc. He also added "Launching iPhone is a major milestone for us and we are proud to offer iPhone customers an attractive nationwide coverage, a robust 3G data network and a value-packed, no-contract plan."

iPhone 4S is the latest addition to iPhone series and is also considered as the most amazing addition yet. It's packed with amazing features including dual-core A5 chip for fast performance and smoothness and 8 megapixel camera. Its other attractive features include an intelligent voice assistant called Siri, full 1080p HD video recording support and iOS 5.1. This amazing phone along with iPhone 4 will be available in Cricket Wireless stores on June 22. It is available with no-contract plan but will you'll need to buy the phone - iPhone 4S will cost $499.99, while iPhone 4 will cost $399.99.

The $55 no-contract plan offers unlimited calling and text messages. Data is also unlimited but there is a fair usage policy of 2.3GB per month applicable here.

According to TechnoBuffalo, Boost Mobile would also be offering iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S with prepaid plan from September. "It remains uncertain if the Sprint-powered MVNO will offer its popular $50 Month Unlimited plan with Shrinkage, which includes unlimited talk, text and web, which also rewards customers who pay their bill on time by reducing their monthly bill by $5 down to as low as $35 per month," Mark Hearn reported. If it's true, this would make things challenging for existing Android offerings as most of the smartphones offered by Boost Mobile are displayed as Android models.

Boost Mobile has refused to comment on the report.
