Nintendo NX News, Updates: Platform Will Support Cartridge, Smartphone Games

Nintendo's upcoming NX game platform is rumored to support both game cartridges and smartphone apps. Several developers have also announced that their upcoming games will soon be released on the Nintendo NX.

Nintendo has announced that the NX will be released on March of next year, according to an earlier iTech Post report. However, the Japanese game company did not reveal a lot of details and features of the upcoming gaming platform.

For now, interested buyers have to rely on rumors and speculations. But there are some rumors that are more persistent than others. The Nintendo NX is reportedly a hybrid gaming device, a combination of a handheld and a console platform, according to Value Walk.

There are also a number of upcoming games that will join the Nintendo NX in its 2017 debut. Included in the release are upcoming games such as "Animal Crossing" and "Fire Emblem". The popularity of Nintendo's "Pokemon Go" has also sparked the interest in Augmented Reality (AR) games.

Ubisoft announced earlier that the upcoming game "Just Dance" will be included in the NX launching next year. The head of its EMEA division, Alain Corre also revealed more NX games will soon be released but declined to name them, according to Gamesindustry.biz.

He also praised Nintendo for its ability to "reinvent" itself by becoming a gaming platform for the family as a whole. Corre then announced that the company will pursue the development of Virtual Reality (VR) games. Observers believed that Ubisoft may pursue to develop augmented reality games such as "Pokemon Go."

Other gaming companies such as EA also plan to join the AR bandwagon, according to the Express. EA head Andrew Wilson believe that their brands can achieve the same or even the surpass success as "Pokemon Go" in the AR area. He also announced that such games will be release soon.
