Best 'Pokemon Go' Tracking Alternatives

After the world of "Pokemon Go" has been shaken early in August by the decision of the game developer Niantic to crack down on third-party tracker services, there are still some alternatives left.

The Wrap reports that Niantic said that these third-party tools such as PokeVision violated their terms of service by revealing information on Pokemon spawn locations based on using private date. For this reason the game developer has been changing the way that "Pokemon Go" is meant to be played. Niantic is cracking down the tracking applications and, as a result, most of the "Pokemon Go" fans are getting frustrated or even angry.

Fortunately, there are still some third-party tracking apps that may help "Pokemon Go" players hunt Pokemon without enduring the frustration of wandering aimlessly for hours and catching nothing. The Bitbag revealed that despite the recent shutdown of PokeHound and PokeVision, "Pokemon Go" players can still use some tracking tools based on the same approach of tapping into the game servers in order to provide the exact location of Pokemon characters.

Smart Poke

Among the apps that have escaped so far Niantic's crackdown is Smart Poke. Smart Poke is a Pokemon tracking application in many ways similar to PokeVision. It provides information in real time to "Pokemon Go" players on where the monsters are located.

The tracking application also provides information on how much time trainers have left to catch the Pokemon before it disappears as well as information on the rarity of the Pokemon characters.

Smart Poke can be set to notify users when rare Pokemon monsters spawn nearby. For now, the app is Android-exclusive and it is unknown when the iPhone version will be available.

Skiplagged And Poke Radar

Other tracking apps similar to Smart Poke, include Skiplagged made by the travel site by the same name.Unfortunately, Skiplagged only works in major cities.

There is also Poke Radar, an app that uses information from user submissions. The only downside to Poke Radar, however, is  that the app only works if enough trainers are reporting spawns in a specific area

Pokemon Go Desktop Map

GameNGuide also mentions tracking app alternatives to make Pokemon hunting an easier task. According to the specialized gaming publication, one of these alternatives is the Pokemon Go Desktop Map that provides a map of Pokemon monsters in the vicinity.
