Android 7.0 Nougat Coming To the Samsung Note 7 Soon

The Galaxy Note 7, Samsung's newest flagship, has entered the smartphone market with plenty of hype and the power to back it up. It has, in its short period on sale, become one of the most preferred handhelds of 2016.

However, plenty of other noteworthy devices are arriving in the fourth quarter of the year, that promise what the Note 7 current cannot - the Android 7.0 Nougat. Fortunately, Samsung has confirmed the newest operating system will soon be available for its units as well.

According to Korean Times, Samsung will make the update to the newer OS in two to three months. "It is very important for us to offer up-to-date information with the new OS, but what's more crucial is to build a stable and seamless platform for users," shared Koh Dong-jin, President of the Mobile Communications Division of Samsung. "That's why we are planning to do enough beta testing before any OS updates."

The International Business Times adds that Android 7.0 Nougat is likely to arrive pre-installed in the Galaxy Note 7 units during their release in other markets, such as the Korean market. However, U.S. users are expected to get a software update sometime next year.

After all, Android updates in the U.S. are heavily contingent on carriers. Android 6.0 Marshmallow was only available for AT&T users in June of this year, though the OS update was released in October 2015.

Koh also admitted that the company will be making changes to the already released standard unit, based on the needs of its specific market. For example, the Galaxy Note 7 is likely to be released with 128 GB of internal memory in China. This move is reliant on the understanding that the Chinese smartphone market is highly competitive, thus requiring a more reliable unit.

"We will continue to accept different needs from each marketplace and respond by releasing localized products by changing memory capacity or color," he said.
