PlayStation 4 Slim Leaked Photos Excite Fans; Design And Features Revealed

Several weeks after the official launch of the Xbox One S from Microsoft, rival company Sony also announced that they will be releasing their own slimmer version of their gaming consoles. According to the reports, leaked images from the new PlayStation 4 console have been seen in an online auction showcasing the device's minor changes including its new non-glossy texture.

According to The Verge, the leaked images show a slimmer version of the PS4 console with rounded corners. The upcoming PlayStation 4 Slim has a 500GB hard drive which seems to be a European model based on the pictures on its packaging. Some sources have also compared the slimmer version to its original PS4 model.

According to Polygon, tech giant Sony has announced a new structure for the PS4. The proposed project was called Neo and is supposed to be out later this year. However, Sony did not provide any further details regarding the design and specs of the said project. Some are speculating that this new PlayStation 4 Slim is the Neo project because it was also an improved version of the present PS4 hardware. However, it could just possibly be an updated version of the latter.

Aside from the minor changes Sony has made to the upcoming device (also from its smaller size), the most noticeable difference in the hardware is the outward removal of the PlayStation 4's optical port. In addition, it is expected that the new PS4 slim will feature a 4K display and hopefully a VR support. Sony has not confirmed it yet.

The upcoming Sony console will have its debut sometime in September during an event. Further details about the price, bundle offers and final feature additions are to be announced by Sony soon. Netflix, as PS4's one of the major providers  also supports Sony's decision all the way regarding the new PS4 launch.
