MacBooks: Top 5 Features We Want In Apple’s Latest Device

While Apple lovers are eagerly waiting for the launch of new MacBook at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference that will kick off today, June 11, we create a Wishlist of some features that we think are indispensible in the latest device.

Check out the list.

New Lean and Mean MacBooks

While rumors are indicating that the Cupertino tech giant is also planning to cut down the girth of the latest MacBooks, we also strongly hope so. Since the release of the ultra-thin and light MacBook Air, MacBook Pro users have complained about the chunkiness of the Pro. Ditching the current weight of 4.5 pounds, which is almost double the weight of the Air, the re-designed MacBook pro should sport a lighter case than the existing model.

Retina Display

Since the launch of New iPad, we are spoiled for the 'resolutionary' display. Retina display is something we are looking forward to see in the MacBooks. While the new revolutionary 2048 x 1536, 3.1 million-pixel Retina Display will ensure to give never-seen-before display clarity, draining battery can be a problem for the users. We want a resolutionary display that does not juice up the battery at the same time.

Improved Battery

The current Air model gives up to 5 hours of battery life on a single charge on the 11-inch model and up to 7 hours on the 13-inch model. On the other hand, according to the company's official website, you can surf the web wirelessly for up to 7 hours on a single charge on 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro models. But once the Retina display is on board, the battery is something that needs Apple's serious attention.

Meanwhile, AppleInsider, citing a recent job listing for a position entitled "Senior DC-DC Power System Design Engineer," reported that the company was exploring new power management technologies for its next line of products.

The new job position is located at Apple's Cupertino, Calif., corporate headquarters.

The listing further stated that "[T]he position primarily involves (advanced) DC-DC power design and development for Apple's next generation Macintosh platforms...spanning from notebook computers, desktop computers, servers and standalone displays."

The website said that this new technology would allow devices to be "more efficient and run even longer on battery power."

More Storage

We would love to see hybrid hard drives with small amounts of flash storage that can be extended up to a terabyte. Also, 8 GB RAM is in the list.

Anti- Glare Screen

Glare on the screen is one of the major complains launched by the MacBook users. An anti-glare display that works under more lighting condition with the distractive highly reflective-glare of the screen, is one of the major feature we want to see in the latest MacBook lines of laptops.

We did not keep Intel Ivy Bridge processor and New Thunderbolt Connector in our Wishlist as we are almost certain to see these two technologies featured in the latest MacBook line.
