Nintendo Vows Not To Repeat Past Mistakes, Includes Motion Sensing In Nintendo NX

The upcoming Nintendo NX has received a lot of hype, despite Nintendo's refusal to divulge anything official about the new console. However, it seems that the gaming company is switching gears and has decided to be more open with its customers.

What Was The Mistake?

According to Polygon, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has decided that the company needs to market the Nintendo NX better than its predecessor, the Wii U. "One of the things that we have to do better when we launch the NX - we have to do a better job communicating the positioning for the product," he said. "We have to do a better job helping people to understand its uniqueness and what that means for the game playing experience."

Previously, Nintendo's president Tatsumi Kishima, had also touched on the difficult the company had in explaining the Wii U's unique specifications. This difficulty and risk is being repeated with the Nintendo NX, which the company as only described as game system unlike anything that came before it.

So When Is It Arriving?

The official launch of the unit is expected to be during the spring of 2017, but the unveiling of the same will be sometime before the end of the year.

Until then, the public is still limited to educated guesses and relatively trustworthy leaks. For example, it has been widely accepted that the Nintendo NX will be a hybrid device, as it can both be mounted and attached to a television set, but that it can also act as a portable player.

What Else Is New?

In addition to this, IGN is claiming that the controllers, which will reportedly rest on the sides of the console, will include motion sensors. This report could mean that the Nintendo NX will also have the ability to act much like the Wii U.

In addition, the innovative controllers are also expected to sport advanced vibration feedback technology. If so, the controllers will provide players with a different feel for each action - a stronger vibration when falling from a high location as opposed to a lower jump.
