'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 4 News & Updates: Showrunner Teases Wiser Team Of Agents; Coping With Trauma Has Never Been Easy

Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." presents a team of stronger and wiser agents that will surely better the show after a heartbreaking downfall on the previous season.

The fourth season featured Phil Coulson and his agents as well as the deals they battled that include new threats of the world.  The finale revealed the team's victory over Hive.  Hive's defeat, unfortunately caused significant losses for the group. Daisy Johnson's shift to a vigilante and Coulson's bidding farewell to his post as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.S. were the major changes that happened.

Showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen relates to Entertainment the positivity of the cast in the latest season.

"In short, it's business as usual when the show returns. "The one thing that you'll really see across the board with all of our characters is that they're just in 'Let's move mode - let's just move on from what went down."

"Whether or not that's just a coping mechanism or denial of all of the trauma that they've experienced, I think them being so functional will start to unravel," Tancharoen elaborated.

Also, the change of time slot from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.is expected to furnish an edgier show.

According to CBR, head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb shares his thoughts about the impact of the series' new later time.

"By going to 10 o'clock, we're going to be taking on just a little bit more edge, a little bit more grit.  The show is pretty violent for something at 9 o'clock, but when we get to 10 o'clock, we're going to be just a little hair of something that I think people are going to really enjoy."

We can only move on as the characters did.  But hey, more vengeance are slated right? We better prepare then.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will air for 22 episodes on ABC starting September 20.
