‘American Gods’ TV Series’ New Addition Will Delight ‘Psych’ Fans

It was indeed a delightful news as ‘Psych” fans will finally see Corbin Bernsen again on TV.

Corbin Bernsen is best known for being in all 8 seasons of USA Network’s hit series ‘Psych’ as retired detective Henry Spencer. He also played as lawyer Arnie Becker on ‘LA Law’ which earned him several Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.

But this time, instead of playing the role of a retired detective with a psychic detective son, he will play the role of and old god named Vulcan in Starz newest upcoming TV show, ‘American Gods’

Deadline described the character, “Vulcan is one of Mr. Wednesday’s (Ian McShane) oldest allies. He’s created a comfortable life for himself by harnessing his powers for the modern world, which makes him resistant to Wednesday’s plans.”

‘American Gods’ is a novel written by Neil Gaiman and will now be adapted into a TV series. It follows an ex convict named Shadow Moon that got involved in a battle between the new and old gods. He travels alongside a con man named Mr. Wednesday who is actually an old god that is on a mission to gather believers to defeat the new gods who are made stronger by society’s love of money, technology, drugs, and more.

According to Comic Book, it took years for the adaptation to fully develop and the series was only confirmed in July 2014. It was also later announced that 'American Gods' will feature Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane will play as Mr. Wednesday, Emily Browning will be Laura Moon, and Kristen Chenoweth as Easter.

Now that Corbin Bernsen is on board, Neil Gaiman fans are now guaranteed that Vulcan will appear on the show. And it is another reason to get fans optimistic when ‘American Gods’ finally air.

Neil Gaiman will be the latest best-selling author to have one of his works retold in a TV series when ‘American Gods’ premieres on the Starz network by 2017.
