Nexon Europe has announced that the company’s hack and slash MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) “Vindictus” will get an entirely new dark episode update called ‘A Song of Doom.’

The new update will transform the world into a gloomy asylum of destruction, and according to the game’s official Europe page, “The cracks are beginning to show. There’s the failed rebellion, an innocent dying, and something dark is lurking in the sacred places of the world. It seems that no secret can stay buried forever.”

There will the inclusion of new battles (including raid battles) and the mercenaries will be faced with the most treacherous bosses that have not yet been seen. Now you can also challenge Lionotus, the swift demon that can leap on and off cliffs.

However, only bravery won’t take you all the way. Try to avoid close-combat against Warlord Black Hammer, the Giant Ogre, since he will stomp and quickly swing his hammer mercilessly. Also you must Conquer Shakarr, the Fomorian Leader, to crush enemy morale. You will also have the chance to destroy resolute Craftsman Colru after you have carefully devised an effective battle strategy.

Although you will get to challenge Shakarr, don’t attempt to take him on unless you’ve got rid of your outdated gear. Hopefully, new armor and weapons for level 61 heroes will keep you alive as you fight your greatest challenges yet. Moreover, long forgotten enchantments have been unearthed to give you the edge you need to secure victory for the Goddess.

“Vindictus,” a prequel to the previously popular MMORPG “Mabinogi” (also known as “Mabinogi Heroes in Asia”), takes place in the same setting used in “Mabinogi,” but is placed chronologically several hundred years prior to the first game during a period of war and strife.

The game itself is free to download and play. The game contains a virtual item shop to purchase in-game items through Nexon points to enhance the player's character's appearance and abilities.
